There are specific considerations in working with older adult SPs related to potential cognitive, physical, and sensory changes associated with ageing. However, there is limited information and understanding about how to support older adult SPs in their work. Description of Innovation/Discussion Topic To meet this need, four simulation educators (from two different countries) collaborated, over the course of four years, to lead the creation of a book focused on older adults as simulated participants. Sixty-six authors from around the world were invited to contribute chapters to the book. Discussion This book draws on theoretical and experience-based practices in a range of settings to deepen understanding of, and provide practical guidance on how to work with older adult SPs in a manner that promotes both their safety and effective learning outcomes. Perspectives of older adult SPs are featured. Practical tools (e.g., scenario templates, worksheets, and quick tips) are included to help readers implement concepts and strategies. Twenty scenarios illustrating application of concepts introduced throughout the book are included.
