Three films disrupt the common stereotype that child abuse, sexual violence, and an insistence on obedience characterize the Catholic church more than the Protestant church. Three movies released between 2010 and 2015, King of Devil’s Island, Sanctuary, and Colonia, all explore the obsession with obedience inherent in society and the Protestant church.
