Title: Photographs of Weather Diaries of the Kirch family, 1677-1774
Description: The data set contains ca. 10400 photos of the weather diaries of the Kirch family, spanning 1677-1774. The diaries were kept in Leipzig (1677-1697), Guben (1697-1700), and Berlin (1700-1774). Authors of the diaries are Gottfried Kirch, Maria Margaretha Kirch, Christfried Kirch, and Christine Kirch. The original diaries are held at Paris observatory (Gottfried Kirch) and the Royal Observatory of Edinburgh (Maria Margaretha Kirch, Christfried Kirch, Christine Kirch). They were microfilmed and copies of the films were sent to the Free University of Berlin. In 1977 Xerox printouts were made from the films. These printouts were photographed in Berlin.
