This lecture revisited the distinction between modern LGBTQI+ identity categories and premodern Islamic legal classifications. It traced continuities and ruptures between historical legal frameworks and contemporary practices in selected Arab countries. Particular attention was given to both legal developments and forms of LGBTQI+ activism, highlighting the dynamic interplay between law, society, and identity politics.
La lezione ha ripreso la distinzione tra categorie moderne legate alle identità LGBTQI+ e le categorie del diritto islamico premoderno. Ha analizzato continuità e discontinuità tra i quadri giuridici storici e le pratiche contemporanee in alcuni paesi arabi, con particolare attenzione agli sviluppi normativi e alle forme di attivismo LGBTQI+. La lezione ha evidenziato l’interazione dinamica tra diritto, società e identità.
