Presents the story of a thief and occasional mercenary from the Eifischtal (Val d'Anniviers) who made his way from his alpine valley to northern Italy and back, all the while stealing, occasionally working, and sometimes fighting on the basis of a 1517 document of the Bern cantonal archives (Staatsarchiv Bern).
