Description
From the Editorial: The year 2024 marked the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ignaz Heinrich von Wessenberg. In the past, the Internationale Kirchliche Zeitschrift (IKZ) has repeatedly published articles about the last administrator of the diocese of Constance (abolished in 1821/27) and his efforts for ecclesiastical reforms which fell on fertile ground in this diocese, especially in the Grand Duchy of Baden and in German-speaking Switzerland.
With contributions by Hubert Wolf (Münster; about attempts to put Wessenberg's writings on the Index of Forbidden Books), Klaus Oettinger (Konstanz; about Wessenberg's relevance to today's concerns for reform), Markus Ries (Lucerne; on Wessenberg's correspondence with the Lucerne pastor Thaddäus Müller), and Angela Berlis (Bern; Old Catholic reception of Wessenberg on the basis of the Wessenberg celebrations ['Wessenbergfeiern'] of 1874 and 1910. Further articles by Evelina Volkmann, Georgiana Huian, Ilya Kaplan and Martyn Percy.
