In this blog-post I present and discuss a paper presented by an Italian medical doctor on eunuchs in Cairo in 1902 containing a denunciation of the practice of castration. The blog-post aims to highlight the importance of Islamic law beyond the boundaries of Muslim jurists’ discourse.
