Abstract
A4.5-year-old domestic ram of the Black Brown Moun tain breed, with a body weight of 122 kg, was pre sented to the Clinic for Ruminants, Vetsuisse-Faculty of Bern, Bern, Switzerland, with a history of decreased ap petite and lethargy 14 days in duration. The ram’s general
attitude and condition had worsened gradually over time. Several episodes of ‘‘dog-sitting’’ had been observed by the owner, as well as increased thirst and frequent urination. The animal had been treated by the referring veterinarian with antibiotics, spasmolytics, and corticosteroids without
