Abstract
Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is an infectious disease that presents a growing public health concern in Europe. This systematic literature review explores the effects of TBE on the cognitive functions of children and adolescents. Most research findings indicate that, after TBE, children and adolescents may have impairments in executive functions, attention, and fatigue. Despite certain discrepancies within the findings, it is essential to consider the potential cognitive sequelae of TBE in children and adolescents for clinical practice and future research.
