Der am-Progressiv in schweizerdeutschen Dialekten (Keynote Talk)

Investigating the am-progressive in Swiss German, Luise Kempf presents unique empirical evidence of what has only been suspected so far: Swiss dialects are leading compared to almost all other German varieties with respect to the developmental stage of this novel progressive construction. It is the first time that the frequencies can be shown to come anywhere near those of the early -ing-progressive.
