The author reports on the 44th International Old Catholic Theologians’ Conference in 2016, which dealt with the issue of how, in our secular age, faith is transformed into words and aids people in their search for meaning; how faith is chiselled into the fabric of church buildings; how faith is taught and conveyed to young and old through pastoral care, catechesis, mystagogy and other forms of initiation and instruction.
