Non-CO2 greenhouse gas stable isotopes are valuable tracers for the compound's global biogeochemical cycle. This in-person workshop will foster information exchange and collabo-ration across experts and newcomer in experimental design, analytics, interpretation, and modelling approaches for the isotopic composition of N2O, CH4 and related compounds.The main objective of this workshop is to stimulate discussion and collaboration between experts addressing different subjects relevant for non-CO2 greenhouse gas (GHG) research. A key focus is to promote knowledge exchange between international experts invited as keynote speakers and junior researchers, PhD students and postdocs. Specific objectives include:1.To provide selection criteria and best practices for analytics to achieve data quality objectives, i.e. accuracy or data comparability, for the target application.2.To explore the potential of rare so-called clumped isotopes, e.g. 13CH3D, 15N14N18O, as independent indicators for formation processes and reaction conditions.3.To establish field experimental designs to maximize the value of co-located meas-urements, including strategies for combining natural abundance, labelled isotope approaches, and complementary environmental parameters.4.To advance cross-disciplinary collaboration that bridges the gap between analytical measurements and isotope interpretation to improve our understanding of biogeo-chemical cycles across space and time. 5.To promote scientific progress by publishing main workshop outcomes as a review manuscript in an open access journal. This will include an overview and selection guide on analytics, best practice guidelines for experiment design, modelling ap-proaches but also, identification of current knowledge gaps, and future develop-ments.
