Leishmania mexicana flagellar proteome knockout library: validation of knockout mutants

Project description
We generated an arrayed CRISPR-Cas9 knockout library for the majority of proteins identified in the motile flagellum proteome (Beneke T et al. (2019) PLoS Pathog 15(6): e1007828. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.ppat.1007828 and Beneke T et al. (2020) J Cell Sci. 2020 Jan 23;133(2):jcs239855. doi: 10.1242/jcs.239855). This screen targeted 629 genes in total, and produced 473 null mutant lines, 53 lines where a copy of the target gene remained in the genome (‘incomplete deletions’). For 89 target genes no viable transfectants were obtained.
