This dataset contains
- Table S1, Documentary evidence of the 1540 drought in Europe (Austria; Belgium & the Netherlands; Czech Republic; France; Germany I; Germany II (Lake Constance Region); Hungary and Romania; Italy; Poland; Portugal; Russia; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland; United Kingdom);
- Table S2, Number of Precipitation Days (NPD) for Poland (PL) and Switzerland (CH);
- Table S3, Number of precipitation days (NPD) in 1540 compared to the 20th-century mean in northern
Switzerland and Cracow, Poland;
- Table S4, PA estimates compared to previous estimates of Limanówka et al. (2001);
- Figure S1, Draws of the model parameters for WCEu for all chains;
- Figure S2, Cross correlation between the draws of the parameters for WCEu;
- Figure S3, Scatter plots of days with precipitation (NRD) during the instrumental period, 1864 – 2012.
